Kukharchuk Valery Vladimirovich has been working in the Russian Cardiology Research and Production Complex of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation since 1970 to the present day. During this time, he has gone from a clinical resident to the department manager of atherosclerosis problems.

V.V. Kukharchuk constantly conducts a great and intensive scientific and clinical work. In the 70s he was one of the first to participate in the work on introducing the method of selective coronarography into clinical practice. This method was widely developed in the clinical practice of many health facilities in Russia.

Since 1984 V.V. Kukharchuk has led the hemodialysis and plasmapheresis laboratory, in which studies were conducted on in vitro methods of blood purification. The work received international recognition and was awarded by the Government of the Russian Federation. In 2002 V.V. Kukharchuk was elected a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences. Under his leadership, 10 doctoral and 22 candidate dissertations were completed and defended. V.V. Kukharchuk is the author of 350 scientific articles and several monographs and manuals.

V.V. Kukharchuk is a member of the board of the Russian Cardiological and Moscow Scientific Society of Cardiologists named after A.L. Myasnikov, Vice Chairman of the Scientific Council of the RCRPC for the defence of doctoral and candidate dissertations, Honorary President of the Russian National Atherosclerosis Society.

Along with the scientific work V.V. Kukharchuk pays a lot of attention to practical medical work, constantly supervising patients, often giving lectures for practicing health care doctors in various cities and regions of Russia.
