In 1974 A.B. Dobrovolsky graduated from the Faculty of Biology of Lomonosov Moscow State University with a degree in biochemistry. From 1974 to 1976 he was an intern researcher, and from 1976 to 1979 he was a Ph.D. student at the Institute of Organic Chemistry of USSR Academy of Science. In 1979 he defended his thesis "Search, isolation and property investigation of troponin T-specific protein kinase".
In 1981-1982 he did an internship at the 9th International Course on selected sections of modern biology, organized by the Academy of Sciences of Hungary in cooperation with UNESCO and the International Cell Research Organization. Since 1984, A.B. Dobrovolsky has been working at the Russian Cardiology Research and Production Complex of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. In 2000 he defended his doctoral thesis "Activation markers of blood coagulation and fibrinolysis in atherosclerosis: analysis of the prognostic significance and influence of antithrombotic, lipid-lowering and vasoactive therapy." The main area of A. B. Dobrovolsky scientific interests is the molecular mechanisms study of regulation of blood coagulation and fibrinolysis, the development of methods for diagnosing thrombus formation and monitoring the effectiveness of antithrombotic and fibrinolytic therapy. He is the author of more than 200 publications (118 articles), including experimental works, clinical studies, guidelines, reviews, a monograph and a chapter in the textbook "Clinical Biochemistry" for university students.
