Author Guidelines

The authors submitting their articles to the Atherothrombosis Journal should follow these rules. 
The content and format of the articles submitted for publication in the Journal should correspond to the sections of the Journal.

 Articles submitted to the Journal shall be prepared in accordance with the following specifications. 
The text should be printed by single interval, font - Times New Roman, size - 12 pt; each section shall be started on a separate page. The right and left margins should be 20 mm. Pages should be numbered consecutively, beginning with the title page, and the page number should be placed in the bottom righthand corner of each page. 

Requirements for articles 

The original article should be divided into following sections headed: 
Introduction, Materials and Methods or Patients and Methods, Results and Discussion. 
Any other type of article (such as descriptions of clinical cases, reviews, editorials, lectures) may be formatted otherwise. 
The title page should contain: title of the article; a scientific degree, rank and place of employment of the author; contact details of the author responsible for correspondence concerning the article; the source of support (in the form of grants, equipment, drugs, etc.), if any. The order of authorship on the byline should be a joint decision of the co-authors. 
Editors may request and publish information about the contributions of each author named as having participated in a submitted paper. 
The abstract should state the Objective(s) of the study, basic Methods, main Results, and the principal Conclusions. 
The article submitted to the Journal should be followed by a list of 3–10 keywords or short phrases which will assist the cross-indexing of the article and which may be published together with an abstract. The Introduction should contain the rationale for conducting the study or observation, the urgency of the problem. 
“Patients and Methods" section should include a description of the patient selection method, group characteristics, applied techniques, equipment and all procedures in sufficient detail to allow other researchers to reproduce the results. Statistical methods should be described with enough detail to enable a knowledgeable reader with access to the original data to judge its appropriateness for the study and to verify the reported results. 
The Results should be presented in the text or illustrations in a logical sequence. 
The Discussion section should contain the new and important aspects of the study, and the conclusions that follow from them. Do not repeat in detail data or other material given in the Introduction or the Results section. 
References should be numbered consecutively in the order in which they first appear in the text. The [references] in the text, tables and figure captions should be assigned Arabic numerals, which should be given in [square] brackets. 
References must be arranged in accordance with the examples published on the website of the Atherothrombosis Journal in the section "Guidelines for Authors". 

Requirements for illustrations 

Tables should be submitted in DOC or DOCX format. Articles that contain tables in the form of drawings and photos taken will not be considered. Tables should be numbered in order of appearance in the text, have title that completely reflects the contents of the table. Each table should be mentioned in the text. Illustrations. Figures should be numbered in order of appearance in the text and placed inside the text. If a figure has been published before, the original source must be acknowledged and written permission from the copyright holder should be submitted with the material. Figures should be provided in TIFF and JPEG formats (TIFF is preferred); illustrations should be no larger than 203 x 254 mm and have sufficient resolution for printing.

The Editorial Board reserves the right to edit submitted for publication materials.

Additional information (in Russian and English)

Information about authors’ contributions. For teams of authors, it is advisable to indicate the contribution of each author to the study and creation of the manuscript   the contribution of each author to the study and creation of the manuscript should be indicated. Options for participation may be the following: article concept; study concept and design; writing text; collection and processing of material; literature review; translation into English; material analysis; statistical processing; editing; approval of the final version of the article; and so on.

Information about sponsorship. It is necessary to indicate the source of funding for both research work and publication process of the article (fund, commercial or state organization, private individual, etc.). No amount of funding is required.

Acknowledgments. The authors can include acknowledgements to the people and organizations, who made contributions to the publication of the article in the journal, but who are not its authors.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The manuscripts are accepted if has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere.

  2. The materials should be prepared in a format OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or World Perfect.

  3. Internet links are provided as a complete URL. 

  4. Text should be typed with an interval of one line spacing, font Times New Roman, 12 pt; to highlight the accents it is recommended to use italics rather than underlining (except Internet links). All images, graphics and tables are placed within the text according to the meaning of the particular part of text  (and not at the end of the document).

  5. Text should follow the stylistic and bibliography requirements as stated in  Regulations  located in the Part "About Us." 

  6. Please, remove the authors' names from the title of the article and other parts of the document to ensure the  anonymity of reviewing.

Authors who publish with this journal agree to the following terms:

  1. Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs License that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.
  2. Specified when registering the names and addresses will be used solely for technical purposes of a contact with the Author or reviewers (editors) when preparing the article for publication. Private data will not be shared with other individuals and organizations.
